Ah!!!

It's about to be super real because the proof copies of the books have shipped.

Here they are just chillin' in China.

They should be at my house next week, but look at them. Just look at them over there being all amazing. They look great in the picture. I can't wait to hold them in my hands!

Pin Proof
about 4 years ago – Tue, Apr 07, 2020 at 04:21:16 PM

Hi,

I just got the pin proof back from our pin manufacturer and thought you would like to see it.

I am so excited for this pin. It is the biggest pin I've ever done. It's the first hard enamel pin I've ever done. It's the first time I've used two pin backs on a pin.

I'm very, very excited for it. Yesterday, I sent all the bonuses out to people. If you backed by the date we went over $25,666, then you should have received an email with your bonuses,  If you didn't, please check your spam. If it's not in your email or spam, you probably backed too late to qualify. You had to back by 3/20 in order to qualify. If you did, and you didn't get an email, please let me know.

I always try to do a ton of bonuses for everybody who backs early, and the earlier you back, the more free things you receive. People who backed on the first day received over $150 in bonuses, but even people who backed right when we passed over $25,666 on 3/20/20 received over $45 in bonuses.

This week, I'm going to be getting the books off to the printer and paying the first invoice. Hopefully by the end of this week, we'll have everything in process. Now, it's just the books that need to go off, and I'm waiting for proofreading notes from one person.

One week down
about 4 years ago – Mon, Apr 06, 2020 at 02:43:52 AM

Hi!

We've gone through 1 of the 2 weeks after a campaign ends before you receive your funds. Where do we stand now?

People whose pledges didn't clear had 7 days after the campaign ended to correct their pledges. We collected all by $885 of the pledges, meaning even though it says $31,889, we effectively made $31,004, which is still AMAZING!

I'm shocked that even with the world falling apart in many ways, we only failed to collect from 17 people so far, and hopefully we'll be able to recover even MORE through fulfillment.

This week I set up the majority of the Backerkit fulfillment dashboard, and finalized the build of the Cthulhu is Hard to Spell: The Terrible Twos book. Right now, I've sent it to a couple of people for final proofreading notes, and then Monday I will send all the files to the printer and send the first half of the payment for the books.

Once that's done, it's mostly on other people to deliver. My printer has to work to get the proofs finalized and sent to me. Then, I sit down with them and go through to make sure everything is correct. Then, I pay the second half of the order and wait for the books to be delivered.

After that's done, I can start to send out all the digital goodies to people. I will be sending out your early bird and other perks in the coming week so you have something to read during quarantine, and then I will hopefully be able to get the rest of the digital rewards out soon after that. I try not to send out surveys until I know the books are on the boat bound for the USA.

Additionally, I ordered the pins this week, so I'm very excited to see them come in, too. They should be in before the books, though there might be some delays because of the virus.

We're at the beginning of this process, but we're moving along nicely. My goal is to get as many things into production as quickly as possible so the books come to us as soon as possible. Once it's out of my hands, then it's out of my hands and into somebody else's.

I look forward to showing you the proofs, and the pins, and getting you your books ASAP, which...who knows when that will be given the global crisis happening. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that we can have as speedy a process as possible.

Talk soon.
